  Membership Covenant

Before you start the process of the membership form, check out 6 things that are really important to us. We call this the covenant- this is what you agree to when you submit your application for membership.

1. I AM SURE OF MY SALVATION BECAUSE...

-I have confessed my sin & received forgiveness through Jesus (Eph 2:8-9)

-I have professed my faith publicly through believer's baptism (Matt 28:19)

-I desire to daily surrender my life to the lordship of Christ (Rom 10:9)

-I seek to obey Jesus & live in a manner that is pleasing to Him (John 14:15)

2. I WILL BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN WORSHIP...

-By regularly attending corporate worship gatherings (Heb 10:25)

-By making worship a way of life (Ecc 12:13)

3. I WILL SERVE IN THE MINISTRY OF OUR CHURCH...

-By seeking to discover my place for ministry at SBC (EPH 2:10)

-By using my giftedness in the body (1 Peter 4:10)

4. I WILL MAINTAIN A GROWING RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST...

-By actively developing a consistent time of personal Bible reading & prayer (1 Tim 4:7)

-By taking full advantage of discipleship opportunities (2 Tim 2:15)

5. I WILL PRACTICE GOOD STEWARDSHIP...

-By honoring God in all of my relationships (Rom 15:5)

-By establishing godly priorities with my time (Matt 6:33)

-By using my gifts & talents for the Kingdom of God (1 For 10:31)

-By giving financially in a way that demonstrates obedience & generosity (2 For 9:7)

6. I WILL PROTECT THE UNITY OF OUR CHURCH...

-By living out the mission of SBC (Amos 3:3)

-By serving & caring for the members of SBC (Romans 12:10)

-By refusing to gossip, but instead using my words to build others up (Eph 4:29)

-By supporting the leaders of our church (Heb 13:17)
